Sports Physicals Available Daily to Walk-In Patients at Our Urgent Care Clinic in St. Clair Shores, MI
Many youth programs require that children and teens get sports physicals completed by a qualified medical practitioner before they’re eligible for participation. This requirement is intended to ensure that all participants can perform the anticipated activities safely. However, even though you recognize the importance of the requirement, you may not be excited when your kid brings home the sports physical form—and it’s due back to the school or youth league right away. How can you get a doctor’s appointment that quickly? Will you have to miss time at work to take your child to the doctor for the exam?
If you’re in the St. Clair Shores, Michigan, area, Springfield Urgent Care stands ready to help. We’re open during extended hours seven days a week, and we offer a broad array of non-emergency medical services, including sports physicals. We don’t require appointments, but you can use our online check-in service to book a time for your visit if you wish.
What to Bring When You Visit Us for a Sports Physical
Whether your child or teen is getting a physical exam for a school, camp, or sports program, the goal is to assess their overall health as well as check for specific conditions like allergies, asthma, and diabetes that may require certain accommodations for safe participation. Although many sports physicals are similar, different programs have different requirements. If your child received a specific form from the program coordinator, it’s important to bring that form with you to be filled out and signed by one of our highly qualified medical practitioners.
Most sports physicals include a vision test, so if your child wears glasses or contact lenses, you’ll want to bring them with you for the exam. Additionally, you should be ready to discuss your child’s medical history, including past illnesses and injuries. It’s a good idea to bring a list of medications your child takes regularly as well.
