Safety Protocols Provide a Better Alternative to Drive-Through Coronavirus Testing for Patients in Clarkston, MI
The staff at Springfield Urgent Care is vitally concerned about the health of all of our patients in the Clarkston, Michigan, area. We’re pleased to provide coronavirus testing to answer a critical need for testing services while also protecting the safety and well-being of our patients who require other medical services. At the same time, we’ll continue providing treatment for a wide variety of non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries at our walk-in clinic in Clarkston, where patients with non-coronavirus concerns can report to our reception area as soon as they arrive.
We ask that all patients wear a mask when entering our clinic and that those with a cough and/or a fever of 100.4 degrees or higher remain in their vehicles and call (248) 942-5888 when they arrive at our clinic. One of our friendly staff members will check you in and provide instructions about entering our clinic. If you’re not experiencing COVID-19 symptoms and you’re seeking coronavirus testing, you can simply head inside our clinic, where you’ll receive testing on a first-come, first-served basis. With our safety protocols in place, we’re no longer providing drive-through coronavirus testing at our walk-in clinic.
We offer coronavirus testing daily, and no appointment is needed.
Who Should Be Tested for COVID-19?
Anyone who is experiencing respiratory problems and is worried about coronavirus exposure can be tested at Springfield Urgent Care. Although early reports listed fever, headaches, and coughing as the most common symptoms, emerging information indicates that some people experience a wider range of symptoms. There’s also evidence that many people who contracted the virus experienced little to no discomfort, yet they could potentially infect others.
Additionally, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has identified those most at risk of serious complications from COVID-19 as those who are 65 and older and those who have underlying medical problems. However, younger people with no known health problems have also fallen seriously ill as a result of contracting the virus.
Types of Coronavirus Testing We Offer
At Springfield Urgent Care, we’re pleased to offer a wide array of COVID-19 tests. For patients who think they might be experiencing an active coronavirus infection, we offer two types of rapid tests, both of which deliver results within minutes. We also offer the traditional polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test with next-day results. All of these tests involve nasal sampling.
If you’re concerned that you may have had the virus and recovered, Springfield Urgent Care can provide a blood test to detect COVID-19 antibodies in your system. If antibodies are present, they may indicate that you have a certain level of immunity to the disease.
